Warli envelops made by dear sister + Tutorial (Ceramic cone work)

Hey, got to share some beautiful hand painted envelops, my dear sister Jyoti made, before her marriage..now my priced possession ;)

So here comes tutorial, I would like to tell you all how these beautiful envelops are decorated using ceramic(again this is how my sister taught me :))..

Material required:
Ceramic powder
DDL (similar to fevicol)
Plastic bags (the milk bags wud be ideal, you can use some other thick plastic also)
Cello tape/rubber band

Steps:
I mixed Ceramic powder and DDL (its a form of fevicol) to get a mehendi or hina like consistency(little thcker than hina, coz it might spread). Then made a plastic cone and put it in that. All ready to rock...you can make any number of designs with this cone. If you want colors, you can mix fabric or poster colors in the ceramic and DDL mix..

Easter egg? Not really! Its Saachi ka ghosla(nest)

My 50th post in almost 1 yr of blogging with some active phases and some not so active..! Didn't realize time flew so fast..this wonderful blog world has given me soo many friends, so many ideas, tips. Most importantly it was a big support during one of the most difficult phases of my life..thank you all my friends out there for reachin out to me through this blog..
May our friendship always grow. May we always try to have a positive outlook towards life and think of everything happening around as a blesing. Rather than finding faults, may we try to find the good in everyone. Try to help the needy in all possible ways..God bless

Made this baby page when I was at my native place with mom and dad..The photo is of my daughter sleeping snugly in her granpa's lap..somehow looking at that photo I felt like a cute eggie.I cut it out into an oval shape. I had this cute little nest which I had brought from US with a golden bird..I thought I can make somthing out ot it..it was 11.30 in the night!! u guessed right..I am noctornal :) Mom and dad were already asleep, I quietly worked on this nest and little egg. Mom and dad were amused in the morning seeing their grand daughter in the nest!!
I had not done the rest of the decoration, but had this brief concept. I had leant basic ceramic work from my dear sister Jyoti during that time and thought will make some ceramic birds to complete the page.
Jyoti was soo excited (me too to show it to her coz we both looove crafting and doing it together is all the more fun...:)!!) and happy to see this and then we both sat and did the ceramic work. Will post a tutorial soon..
I thought this is a good time to share this, so I can send this to the easter challenges..wat say? looking forward to your lovely comments..

Hand made envelops 1

Warli?? looks like my latest obsession ;)
Its a form of Tribal painting, Warli is extensively practiced by the 'aadivasis' (Tribals) of Maharashtra region. Simple geometric patterns that depict the lifestyle of tribes is the essence of this art.

Made these traditional envelops using the old wedding invitations. Decorated them with ceramic paint. Never used ceramic before..gave this a try after my cute sister guided on the basics of ceramic.

Used punched flowers and pearl color in this hand made envelop.
